Rachel, I see you are in Philly. I am at the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove which is located ajacent to Valley Forge. Maybe we should have a conversation some time. Honestly, we don't have funds for anything right now, but maybe some brainstorming between us would help spark some ideas. Nancy Powell

Anne, your story of the courtship of a young couple's courtship in Deerfield caught my attention. That storyline is very appropriate to our site, as the young John James Audubon met his future wife while here at Mill Grove in PA. Nancy Powell

Hi, Mary Ellyn, our paths have crossed on occasion but not lately. I attended this session for the same reason that you did. Maybe sometime we can compare notes about our efforts. Say Hi to Doug for me. Nancy Powell, John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove, Audubon, PA

Nancy Powell,

Other than using a pc and a camera cell phone, I am brand new to technology. This is all Greek to me. I am curator of collections & exhibitions (1 out of a staff of 4 and the only one involved with collections) for a small house museum. We are thinking of trying to have some kind of content available to visitors via cell phones or other handheld.

I run a small software and mobile media production studio in Boston, Untravel Media (www.untravelmedia.com). We have been working on video podcast and audience research with the New England Aquarium for the past 18 months, with initial work at http://www.neaq.org/insider and full project launching in July at www.neaq.org/tours.

I am interested in how we can maximize the storytelling capabilities of visitor devices in cultural sites and facilitate ongoing involvement with issues and cultural concepts. We are working closely with filmmakers as part of an NEH grant to this end. See: http://www.parkmanmurder.com

Susi Kerr- Sr. Museum Educator, Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery (Saratoga Springs, NY), focusing on technology and college audiences.

I'm interested in ways to provide content through handhelds but am even more interested in figuring out ways to encourage engagement/dialogue with viewers using handheld technologies.

We are a group from the curatorial, education, public programs, and IT departments from the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester, NH. We are looking for ways to include cost effective audio/media tours in special exhibitions and school tours.

Hi I'm Jenna Madison, Coordinator of Museum Interpretation at the High Museum of Art, Atlanta. I'm interested in the many ways that techonlogy continues to impact the visitor experience and social culture of museums. As a former SFMOMA IET intern, I am always looking to learn more about the ways that we as a field are rethinking the use and usability of handhelds; our efforts to minimize the impact of the devices themselves in order to provide an intuitive and personally relavant experience for every visitor. I also find these online conferences to be a great place to learn from colleagues. The London conference got rave reviews, so my sincere thanks to Nancy , et al. for bringing it to the rest of us!
